Thanks to Jeff Tweedy for that amazing lyric.
It happens. Sometimes we fall into something deep and encompassing. We sort of saw it coming when it was far up ahead. But we got caught up in the view, and neglected to keep an eye on our steps.
Suddenly we’re headfirst down the rabbit hole. Not unhappy mind you, but legitimately curious about how we got there, and where in the world it would lead.
It happened to Alice, “Would the fall never come to an end? ‘I wonder how many miles I’ve fallen by this time? ‘ she said aloud…’I wonder if I shall fall right through the earth!”
But, of course, the falling inevitably stops. And there you are.
Usually drenched in well water.
The question now is, do you look for a ladder?
Or do you close your eyes and float?
